I get asked a lot about guilt free shopping, particularly when it comes to household and cosmetic products. There is an awful lot of contradictory information out there but in short there is only one answer- the leaping bunny!

Powered by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) “the Leaping Bunny represents the only internationally recognised certification for cosmetic, toiletry and household product brands which are genuinely against animal testing”. In other words if they don’t list it, it isn’t cruelty free!

There will be many names missing from that list that might surprise you, but the BUAV certification is only awarded to companies who are true to their values, that doesn’t just include the finished product, but all of it’s constituents and everything involved in it’s creation.

It might seem a little scary to deviate from your regular products, especially when it comes to cosmetics but please give it a go. Your new choices will have a significant impact, you will be completely disassociated from the barbaric world of animal testing, and you will smell wonderful!
